喬治·R·R·馬丁

乔治·雷蒙德·理查德·马丁（George Raymond Richard Martin，1948年9月20日－，）美国作家及编剧，创作作品有奇幻、恐怖和科幻等風格。冰与火之歌系列小说是他的代表作，其中前三部已被改编成电视剧在HBO播出。乔治马丁被时代杂志评选为2011年影响世界的百大人物之一。

小传

乔治·马丁生于新泽西，是码头工人的儿子。马丁从小就酷爱阅读，励志成为一名作家。

• 1970年，马丁获得了西北大学新闻专业本科学位，1970年同样在西北大学获得新闻专业硕士学位。
• 马丁在20世纪七十年代早期便开始创作短篇科幻故事。1973年他创作出版的With Morning Comes Mistfall为他第一次赢得了雨果奖和星云奖两个奖项的提名。
• 在20世纪80年代，马丁为电视剧创作剧本并成为一名图书编辑。创作的电视剧包括Twilight Zone，新Beauty and the Beast。在此期间他审查过的图书包括Wild Cards，Wild Cards。
• 马丁的中篇小说Nightflyers,于1987年被改变为同名电影。
• 20世纪90年代起，马丁开始创作他的奇幻史诗系列冰与火之歌。1996年出版了该系列的第一部權力遊戲，1998年11月出版了第二部列王紛爭，2000年8月出版了第三部劍刃風暴，2005年11月出版了第四部群鴉盛宴,2011年3月出版了第五部血龍狂舞，该系列的后两部寒冬冽風与春日幻夢尚未完成。
• 2011年2月15日，马丁与Parris McBride在新墨西哥的圣达菲结婚。
