嗜鳥龍（屬名：Ornitholestes）意為「搶劫鳥類者」，是種小型獸腳亞目恐龍，生存於晚侏儸紀的勞亞大陸西部，約為現在的北美洲。對於嗜鳥龍的瞭解幾乎都來自單一個化石，該化石在1900年發現於懷俄明州的科莫崖附近[1]，並由亨利·費爾費爾德·奧斯本（Henry Fairfield Osborn）在1903年所敘述、命名[2]。後來發現一個手部化石，被歸類於嗜鳥龍，目前被歸類於長臂獵龍[3]。嗜鳥龍的種名hermanni是用來紀念美國自然歷史博物館的標本製作人員Adam Hermann。莫里遜組的嗜鳥龍化石，發現於第2地層帶[4]。

嗜鳥龍是種虛骨龍類恐龍，有許多地方類似美頜龍，但體型稍大。嗜鳥龍的身長約2公尺[5]。頭部溪當小[6]，與其他小型獸腳類恐龍（例如美頜龍、虛骨龍）相比，嗜鳥龍的頭部較堅壯，因此牠們的咬合力較大[5]。嗜鳥龍的尾巴長，以平衡身體的功能[7]。
葛瑞格利·保羅（Gregory S. Paul）曾認為嗜鳥龍的口鼻部上有小型角，類似原角鼻龍[6]；然而這論點最近已被卡彭特等人所反駁，他們指出這突起物其實是斷掉的鼻部骨頭[3]。

嗜鳥龍是肉食性動物，擁有小型、銳利的牙齒，但古生物學界對牠們以何種動物為食產生爭議。
在1903年，亨利·費爾費爾德·奧斯本認為嗜鳥龍的手部較長，可以迅速的抓住靈活的動物，而提出嗜鳥龍可能以鳥類為食[2]。在1917年，奧斯本重新研究嗜鳥龍，認為牠們的手部不能做出這種動作[7]。
後來，羅伯特·巴克（Robert T. Bakker）根據嗜鳥龍的嘴部大小，提出牠們可能以小型哺乳類為食[8]。

在1940年的迪士尼動畫電影《幻想曲》（Fantasia）的《春之祭》段落，一隻嗜鳥龍跳躍起捕抓一隻始祖鳥。
在BBC的電視節目《與恐龍共舞》（Walking with Dinosaurs）第二集，一隻嗜鳥龍正追蹤一隻幼年梁龍。
