大衛·朱維特

大衛·朱維特（David C. Jewitt，1958年－） 是一位生於英國的美國天文學家。他曾在夏威夷大學天文研究所擔任教授，現任教於洛杉磯加利福尼亞大學。

經歷

朱維特於1958年生於英國。於1979年獲得倫敦大學學士學位，之後分別於1980和1983年獲得加州理工學院天文學碩士和博士學位。他的研究興趣包含柯伊伯带、太陽系形成、彗星物理性質等。他和天文學家珍妮·劉一起於1992年發現了繼冥王星與查龍之後（當時冥王星仍被視為行星）首個海王星外天體1992 QB1。另外他和斯科特·謝帕德（Scott S. Sheppard）一起發現了多顆外行星的衛星。
