上季度末史提夫·麥加雷被Wo Fat陷害，被HPD已涉嫌谋杀州长被捕，而Kono Kalakaua因为之前那次拯救Chin Ho Kelly被人目击而被捕；Danny没有闲着而Steve的导师Joe White也来到夏威夷帮助Steve；最终他们发现州长办公室有个微型摄像头，摄像头拍下了整个过程还Steve清白；然而Kono却没这么幸运，停职并接受内务部门调查；而当大家把摄像头以前的资料调查出来的时候惊奇的发现Steve的父亲Jack McGarrett和Wo Fat以及州长谈论的视频。

2011年05月15日CBS官方宣布续订本剧第二季[27]。

《迷失》中的演员特瑞·欧奎恩(Terry O'Quinn)将将饰演海豹部队的中将White指挥官[28]，他饰演的角色将协助重建Five-O[29]；汤姆·塞兹摩尔(Tom Sizemore)将饰演檀香山警察署内务负责人[30]；劳伦·日尔曼（Lauren German）将饰演前任国家安全局探员[31]。而在第一季里面饰演法医的冈政伟在第二季将成为常规角色[32]。
