天龍座矮星系是羅威爾天文台的艾伯特 G. 威爾遜在1954年發現的。這個矮星系的位置在天龍座，屬於本星系群，是銀河系的衛星星系。最近的研究顯示這個星系也許有許多隱藏著的暗物質 [1]。它也是最暗的矮星系之一，只擁有依些年的恆星族群和星際物質 [2]。
