沃爾特·比德爾·“甲壳虫”·史密斯（Walter Bedell "Beetle" Smith，1895年10月5日－1961年8月9日）是美国陆军四星上将，政治家，外交家，中情局局長。他曾在突尼斯战役和入侵義大利期間擔任盟軍司令部艾森豪威尔将军的参谋长。后在1944年到1945年，為歐洲盟軍遠征軍最高司令部艾森豪威尔總帥的参谋长。1946年任駐蘇聯大使，1949年任第1集團軍司令；1950年任美國中央情報局長，1954年退休。

生平

1911年，史密斯以二等兵军阶在印第安纳州国民卫队入伍。 在第一次世界大战期间，他于1917年被授予军官职位并与1918年在第二次马恩河战役中受伤。战争结束后，他成为美国陆军步兵学校（也称本宁堡步兵学校）的参谋及讲师。1941年，他成为陆军总参谋秘书，第二年他成为“联合参谋长团”（Combined Chiefs of Staff）的秘书. 他的职责包括参与最高级别的讨论，史密斯还常向罗斯福总统汇报战略部署。
