滑车神经是第4对脑神经,编号Ⅳ。[1]

滑车神经为运动性神经,起于中脑下丘平面对侧滑车神经核,自中脑背侧下丘方出;自脑发出后,绕过大脑脚外侧前行,穿经海绵窦外侧壁向前,经眶上裂,越过上直肌上睑提肌向前内侧行,进入并支配上斜肌

滑车神经是脑神经中最细的神经。

上斜肌的動作[编辑]

為了瞭解上斜肌的動作,可以想像眼球是被限制的一領域 - 就像電腦滑鼠的軌跡球 - 上斜肌可以做的動作(1) 在垂直平面旋轉-看下和上(depression and elevation of the eyeball) 和 (2) 在臉的平面旋轉(intorsion and extorsion of the eyeball)。

Axons from one of these subnuclei, the medial nucleus, decussate before exiting the nucleus itself.
