第38師團（38th Division，Dai sanjūhachi shidan）是日本皇軍中一個甲種步兵師團。該師團極大地參與第二次世界大戰中的太平洋戰役，包括在1941年佔領香港、在1942年初攻佔荷屬東印度群島和從1942年10月至1943年2月間的瓜達爾卡納爾島戰役。該師團試圖在盟軍手中奪回瓜達爾卡納爾島時遭受嚴重損失，隨後被分配到防守阿德默勒爾蒂群島、新不列顛島和新愛爾蘭島，直到戰爭結束。
該師團的主要單位是第228、第229和第230步兵團。第228步兵團主要包括來自名古屋的、第229步兵團來自岐阜縣和第230步兵團來自靜岡縣的義務兵。該師團因日本皇軍於第二次世界大戰結束後被解除武裝而被解散。
