2016年夏季奧林匹克運動會將於2016年8月5日至8月21日在巴西里約熱內盧舉行。2016年夏季帕拉林匹克運動會也將於2016年9月7日至9月18日在巴西里約熱內盧舉行。場館有10座是利用現有建築，8座是有位賽事而整修的建築，9座是為了奧運而興建的場館和七座在賽會後會拆除的臨時場館。
