The recording location indicates that the community of orcas involved is almost certainly the Southern Alaskan Resident Killer Whales. The other population that frequents the location is the Bigg's Killer Whales. "The recordings available here were made by the National Park Service, using a hydrophone that is anchored near the mouth of Glacier Bay, Alaska for the purpose of monitoring ambient noise. "
