3PL stands for third-party logistics provider, any firm that specializes in providing logistics services and which is independent from the manufacturer's logistics division. Examples such as CH Robinson Worldwide the biggest, followed by Exel, Federal Express, DHL, UPS, TNT N.V., and Nexus Distribution all fall into this category.
