UGM-27北极星导弹

UGM-27北极星导弹是洛克希德公司为美国海军在冷战期间建造的一种两段式固燃潜射弹道导弹。用于替换SSM-N-8天狮星型巡航导弹。当时该弹被称为舰队弹道导弹，首次试射是在1960年1月7日于佛罗里达肯尼迪角进行的。在1963年签下北极星订购合同后该弹从1968年到1990年代中期也用在英国皇家海军的潜艇上。
意大利本也有意购买，还在巡洋舰加里波第号上进行了试射但是尽管试验成功，美国却出于政治考虑未提供该弹。意大利于是自行发展了阿尔法型导弹，却由于核不扩散条约签订而未装备。
该导弹的后续型是1972年开始发展的波塞冬式导弹。1980年代该弹在十艘新艇上被三叉戟I导弹取代。 在该弹发展过程中采用了一些新的系统评估手段，包括项目评估与回顾技术PERT。它取代了过时的甘特图表评估。
