铲齿喙鲸（学名：Mesoplodon traversii），又称铲齿中喙鲸，是喙鲸科中最为罕见也是人类了解最少的物种。它最早由在新西兰皮特岛于1872年发现的部分下颚骨骼而得名，詹姆斯·赫克托于1873年报告并说明了这种生物，第二年约翰·爱德华·格雷描述了这种生物，并以收集者亨利·哈默斯利·斯格特命名。^[2]^[3]

2010年两只铲齿喙鲸(母鲸和幼鲸)搁浅在新西兰北部的丰盛湾，后来死去。起初相关单位以为它们是格氏中喙鲸，直至2012年DNA和组织鉴定结果出炉证实为铲齿喙鲸，这也是全世界首次记录到活体的铲齿喙鲸^[4]。这种鲸鱼也是目前人类所知最少的现存大型哺乳动物。
