利物浦约翰摩尔斯大学（英语：Liverpool John Moores University，缩写：LJMU[2]）是坐落于英国利物浦的一所新大学，其名称是为了纪念约翰·摩尔斯，1992年获大学资格。不过由于其历史可以追溯至19世纪早期，因此许多建筑为乔治亚式或维多利亚式建筑。[3]
历史[编辑]
利物浦约翰摩尔斯大学的前身是1823年成立的Liverpool Mechanics' School of Arts。该机构后来成为利物浦技校（Liverpool Polytechnic）。[4]
根据1992年继续和高等教育法案改名为利物浦约翰摩尔斯大学（Liverpool John Moores University），同年9月15日英国枢密院正式承认其资格。[4]

根据2008年科研评估，该大学70%科目的研究水平都有达到“世界领先”级，全部都有国际优秀研究。[8] 整体排名为世界领先（4*），全英排名第68位。[8]

绘画奖[编辑]
约翰摩尔斯绘画奖是在利物浦步行者画廊两年一度颁发的艺术奖。首次颁发于1957年。与此同时该画廊也会举办一场艺术展，这也是利物浦双年展的一部份。2008年利物浦庆祝入选欧洲文化之都时该艺术展是主要的庆典之一。[12]
