DistroWatch是一个包含了各种Linux发行版及其他自由/开放源代码的类Unix操作系统（如OpenSolaris、MINIX及BSD等）的新闻、人气排名、以及其他一般资讯等的网站。它包含了数百种发行版的资讯[2]。它最初在2001年5月31日发布，并由Ladislav Bodnar维护[3]。
这个网页包含了很多不同发行版的软体套装及版本的细节比较表。也包含了一些基本特征如价格及支援的处理器架构等[4]。其也有DistroWatch周刊（Distrowatch weekly，常缩写为DWW），每周一出刊“细数一周来在发行版世界发生的所有大小事”[5] 。截至2008年11月17日[update]，5年半，278期后，Ladislav决定卸下DWW编辑的位置。Ladislav表示他将会继续“释出最新的新闻并保持所有发行版页面为最新的状态”[5]，而DWW将会由Chris Smart接手编写[6]。
Distrowatch有一个每月捐助计画，DistroWatch及两个线上商店贩卖低成本的Linux、BSD及其他开放原始码软体的CD及DVD。截至2010年6月7日[update]，DistroWatch总共捐出了24,478美元给许多不同的开放原始码软体专案（自2004年3月起）[7]。

Bodnar写道“我相信那些统计数字还是有点真实性的，但老实说，它们真的并不代表一切，不应该太认真的对待”及“并不是市场占有率或品质的指标...”[8]。
PCWorld写道“DistroWatch的页面点击数的确是部份发行版感兴趣的东西，但不能以此代表真正使用或整体偏好的状况”[9]。
Muktware写道“DistroWatch并不是‘有多少使用者’的指标，但的确可以用来观查使用者正在找什么”[10]。
