PlayStation 3 系統軟件是指PlayStation 3可升級系統軟件以及PS3的作業系統。

PlayStation 3本機作業系統被稱作「Cell OS」，據信是建基於 FreeBSD計劃[2]。用於PlayStation 3的3D電腦圖形API軟件「LibGCM」和PSGL，則是基於OpenGL ES以及Nvidia旗下開發的Cg語言[3]。 PlayStation 3以「XrossMediaBar」（交叉媒體廊）作為其圖形化使用者介面。[4]

最新的軟件版本4.90，2023年2月28日發佈更新。

軟件升級方式[編輯]

  • 網絡更新：進入系統主選單的設定，選擇系統更新後，按下○按鈕（美版系統按下Ｘ按鈕）。之後選擇通過國際網絡更新即可；
  • 使用電腦更新：使用電腦替USB手指等儲存媒體新建一個名為「PS3」的資料夾，再於該資料夾下建立一個名為「UPDATE」的資料夾，將下載的更新資料放於「UPDATE」的資料夾內。將儲存了更新資料的儲存媒體插入PS3，進入主選單的設定，選擇系統更新後，按下○按鈕（美版系統按下Ｘ按鈕）。選擇通過儲存媒體更新後，按下○按鈕（美版系統按下Ｘ按鈕）。
  • 光碟更新：有些遊戲光碟會內含新版本系統軟件，插入遊戲光碟後，如果出現更新系統的提示畫面，按下○按鈕（美版系統按下Ｘ按鈕）即可。
