格氏浣熊（学名：Procyon lotor gloveralleni），又名巴岛浣熊，是浣熊已灭绝的一个亚种，1964年前生活在小安的列斯群岛的巴巴多斯。[1]
分类[编辑]
于1950年，Edward Alphonso Goldman将格氏浣熊分类为独立的物种，但在期后不断受到其他学者的质疑。2003年的形态学及遗传学分析发现它们其实是浣熊的亚种，且是由人类于几百年前引入的。[2]这项研究亦发现生活在西印度群岛的瓜达卢浣熊及梅氏浣熊也是浣熊的亚种。[3][4]
描述[编辑]
与浣熊相比，格氏浣熊较为细小，可能是岛内出现的侏儒化。格氏浣熊外观像瓜达卢浣熊，包括短小的头颅骨、深灰色的毛皮及颈部及肩膀呈赭色。格氏浣熊下身的绒毛上有护毛。
灭绝[编辑]
于1996年，格氏浣熊被认为自1964年后已经灭绝。[5][6]唯一架起的标本现正存放在巴巴多斯博物馆。[6]另外一种浣熊亦被引入巴巴多斯。[7]由于格氏浣熊分布得很密集，故此相信它们只限生活在岛屿的南部。因旅游业而失去栖息地可能是它们灭绝的主因。
