人權教育
人權教育是在學校和教育機構對人權歷史、學說和法律的教育，也面向公眾推廣。
人權教育和聯合國[編輯]
聯合國大會宣布它為實現在世界人權宣言所規定權利的中心[1]：
| “ | 現在，大會，發布這一世界人權宣言，作為所有人民和所有國家努力實現的共同標準，以期每一個人和社會機構經常銘念本宣言，努力通過教誨和教育促進對權利和自由的尊重，並通過國家的和國際的漸進措施,使這些權利和自由…… | ” |
世界人權宣言的第26.2條中對教育工作者在實現社會秩序的作用所要求的宣言：
| “ | 教育的目的在於充分發展人的個性並加強對人權和基本自由的尊重。教育應促進各國、各種族或各宗教集團間的了解、容忍和友誼,並應促進聯合國維護和平的各項活動。 | ” |
兒童權利公約第29條要求各國確保兒童能夠建立一個尊重自己的文化、文化的語言和價值觀、語言和其他價值觀的認同。[2] 聯合國在1993年的維也納宣言和行動綱領中重申了人權的重要性，
| “ | 世界人權會議重申，依照《世界人權宣言》和《經濟、社會、文化權利國際公約》以及其他國際人權文書，各國有義務確保教育的目的是加強對人權和基本自由的尊重。 | ” |
維也納宣言的結果是1995年至2004年十年被宣布為聯合國人權教育十年 。[4][5]
聯合國教育、科學及文化組織有責任促進人權教育，並且是聯合國人權教育十年的一個關鍵組織者[6] 教科文組織努力促進人權教育的辦法是：[7]
- 通過其在國家和分區域一級合作發展的項目和方案，發展國家和地方的人權教育能力。
- 擬訂學習材料和出版物的翻譯並且適應國家和地方語言。
- 宣傳和網絡活動。
隨著人權教育十年， 2004年12月10日 ，大會宣布了世界人權教育方案 和正在進行的項目，以在所有部門推動執行人權教育方案：
| “ | 在聯合國人權教育十年（ 1995-2004年）成就的基礎上 ，世界方案旨在促進共同理解的基本原則和方法進行人權教育，提供了一個具體的行動框架，並加強夥伴關係與合作國際一級到基層。 | ” |
人權教育組織[編輯]
像大赦國際和人權教育協會的組織通過其方案方案促進人權教育[9][10]，相信「學習是對人權尊重、促進和捍衛的第一步」大赦國際對人權教育的定義是「仔細考慮、參與性地實踐做法，目的是讓個人、群體和社會，通過促進符合國際公認人權的知識、技能和態度。[11]
