特立尼达和多巴哥國徽中央圖案為盾徽，呈山形分割。上部黑地，繪有兩隻金色蜂鳥。下部紅地，繪有哥倫布「發現」美洲時使用的三艘帆船。上下部加上中間的白邊是國旗的顏色。盾上方繪有頭盔、舵輪和棕樹。盾徽由美洲紅䴉和棕臀稚冠雉守護。下方的山巒代表了千里達島和多巴哥島。綬帶書有國家格言「我們一起追求，一起成就」。
2024年8月，总理基思·罗利在人民民族运动年度大会上宣布，政府计划从国徽中移除克里斯托弗·哥伦布的帆船图案（该图案自1962年首次启用以来一直沿用至今），并以国鼓——特立尼达和多巴哥的民族乐器——取而代之。[1]此举旨在清除“殖民遗迹”。[2]2025年1月，众议院和参议院通过了相关法案，并于1月29日获得特立尼达和多巴哥总统的批准。[3] 吉莉安·毕晓普负责新国徽的设计，该设计于2025年1月19日公布。2025年2月21日，政府发布公告，正式启用新国徽，并于2025年2月25日开始使用。[4][5]
2025年12月，政府发布公告，将旧国徽的使用期限延长至2031年1月2日。[6]在此期间，新旧国徽同时使用。[7]新国徽设计计划于2026年8月起出现在纸币上，首批采用面值100特立尼达和多巴哥元的纸币为新版国徽。[8]
