洗禮

洗禮（英語：Baptism），又稱聖洗聖事、施洗、受洗，全身浸入水中的稱為浸禮、受浸，是一宗教儀式，現普遍指基督教的傳統儀式。據聖經記載，施洗約翰曾為耶穌施洗，而這亦是耶穌吩咐的使命。^[1]

词源

洗禮一詞來自通用希臘文動詞「βαπτίζω」（Baptizmo）或名詞「βάπτισμα」（Baptisma），意思是「使用水」、「投入水中」、「浸」或「洗滌」。^[2]部分基督教宗派將洗禮列為聖事（聖禮）之一。

过程

洗禮通過把祝聖過的水倒在、洒向受洗者頭上；或把受浸者放進水中，然後扶起來施行。現天主教、東正教和大部分新教教派實施的嬰兒洗禮，在2世紀時已有文獻記錄，教父指出是使徒傳統。由於對洗禮有不同的理解，因而形成不同的宗派；不同的宗派內，在基督教歷史上也發展出不同的教義。對於洗禮的討論，主要提到：洗禮的效能，施洗的方法及嬰孩、死人受洗等問題。

目的作用

聖經《彼得前書》指出舊約時代挪亞藉水得救一事，預表後世的人藉洗禮得救：

就是那從前在挪亞預備方舟、神容忍等待的時候不信從的人。當時進入耶穌基督；這洗禮本不在乎除掉肉體的汙穢，承認基督耶穌一同出死，只求在神面前有無虧的良心。^[3]

基督教很多宗派都認為《聖經》記載洗禮中基督徒在眾人（包括神、人、魔鬼）面前承認自己與基督耶穌一同出死入生，承認自己是基督徒。^[4]基督教中部分宗派更認為洗禮不單是一種記號、儀式，^[5]讓受洗信徒有宣認信仰的機會，洗禮本身更能帶來屬靈的更生（Baptismal regeneration），^[6]^[7]^[8]這些教會相信洗禮是神向人施行恩典的工具，當中神在領洗的人當中建立、加強信心，藉此為人帶來救恩。（彼得前書3:20-21）^[9]^[10]^[5] 同時，洗禮也被認爲是屬靈意義的葬禮。（歌羅西書2:11-12 （页面存档备份，存于互联网档案馆））
