摩爾與父母關係較為緊張，青少年時期多由祖母與姨母照顧。她18歲時與Richard Meeker結婚並育有一子，但婚姻在1962年結束。之後她與電視製作人格蘭特·廷克 再婚，並共同創立製作公司，兩人最終於1981年離婚。1983年，她與心臟科醫生 Robert Levine 結婚，維持至她2017年去世。
她與兒子Richard的關係一度疏遠，雖後期修復，但兒子於1980年因意外槍擊身亡，年僅24歲，對她造成重大打擊。
政治立場
她曾與多位政治名人接觸。政治立場由早期偏自由派逐漸轉向較保守，晚年自認為「自由意志中間派」，並關注公共議題與媒體評論。
健康與生活狀況
她33歲時被診斷患有第一型糖尿病，並長期與疾病共存。她曾有酗酒問題，於1984年戒酒，之後也將煙戒掉。晚年健康狀況惡化，包括腦部良性腫瘤手術、心臟與腎臟問題，以及因糖尿病導致的視力嚴重受損。
