链球菌科（学名：Streptococcaceae），其源自古希腊词语στρεπτός（罗马化：streptós，意思是“扭曲的”）和κόκκος（罗马化：kókkos，意思是“浆果、颗粒”），该菌科为革兰氏阳性菌，属于乳杆菌目。[2] 代表性属包括乳球菌属、乳卵形菌属和链球菌属。
