美国世纪

美国世纪（英语：American Century）是对20世纪的一种概括^[1]^[2]，它表明了这段时间美国对于世界政治、经济、文化上的巨大影响。该词语来源于将1815年至1914年的百年称为英帝国世纪（英语：Britain's Imperial Century）的说法^[3]。美国的影响力在20世纪稳步上升。当二战结束时，它未经战火摧残，是世界上最富裕的国家，和苏联并称两极。当1991年苏联解体后，美国成为了唯一的超级大国^[4]，也有说法称其为超级强国（hyperpower）^[5]。
