蝇子草属（学名：Silene）是石竹科中的一个属。

描述[编辑]

蝇子草属的植物是一年生、两年生和多年生的草本植物。它们的茎有直立的也有弯的或者匍匐的。叶成对，简单。

花有单个的，也有组成花序的。花轴对称，有双性的也有单性的。往往在一般双性的花里有雌蕊明显短，只有雄蕊有生殖能力的花。有些种也雌雄异株。五枚花萼长在一起，形成管状、卵状或者钟形。五枚花瓣的颜色分布很广。雄蕊分两个圈，每个圈有五枚。三或五枚雌蕊组成一个子房。雌蕊比雄蕊长出来的长度不同。

蒴果里有六枚、十枚、很少有五枚种子，种子微小，有些有翼。

蝇子草属植物吸收金属的特性非常著名，它们能够吸收大量锌、钴、镉、汞等重金属。

部分蝇子草种类在花梗等部位布有可分泌黏性液体的腺毛，如高雪轮，可以杀死一些小型昆虫，具备一定原食虫性，但并不是严格意义上的食虫植物。

由于蝇子草属的植物之间能够形成杂交种因此其种类辨别有时很困难。

蝇子草属有约600个种，它们主要分布在北半球的温带。但是在非洲和南美洲也有。在中国有110个种，其中67个种是特有种。
