法国南部（法语：Midi de la France）[1]，是由已定义的地理区域组成的法国的南部地区普瓦捷[2]和与西班牙、地中海和意大利接壤的地区，法国南部地区包括[3]：

这一带对奥克西塔尼亚很大程度上说，哪些是奥克语 (langue d'oc）与法国南部的奥依语（langue d'oïl），从历史上看奥依语是主导的语言。虽然欧西坦尼亚是法国的一部分，但奥文尼和利穆赞通常不认同是法国南部的一部分。

词语Midi源自mi(中)和古法语di(天)。位于北半球的地区，因为在中午时太阳位于天空的南方，因此在法国中午是南方的代名词。在法国中部，meridien中午和南方是同义词。
