2007年，克里斯蒂娜·費爾南德斯·德·基什內爾當選阿根廷總統（英語：Presidency of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner），接任放棄競逐連任的丈夫內斯托爾·基什內爾[9]。到2015年，克里斯蒂娜卸任總統，結束八年的兩任任期[10][11]。在2019年10月27日舉行的2019年阿根廷大選中，克里斯蒂娜與競選搭檔艾拔圖·費爾南德斯勝選，同年12月10日正式就任副總統[12]。
