羅浮宮 的狄奧多西二世頭像《狄奧多西法典 》（拉丁語 ：Codex Theodosianus ）為東羅馬帝國 皇帝 狄奧多西二世 對羅馬法 進行的匯編。公元429年3月26日，狄奧多西二世以及西部帝國共治皇帝瓦倫丁尼安三世 組織委員會準備編纂[1] [2] [1]
公元429年3月26日，狄奧多西二世在君士坦丁堡元老院宣佈打算組建一個委員會，以匯編自君士坦丁大帝 以來羅馬帝國的所有法律。起初由8人編纂，收集君士坦丁大帝以來的皇帝諭令以及權威法學家的評論註釋，在發現任務繁重難以完成後，又於435年另加入16人，同時改為只收集皇帝敕令，至438年方才完成[3] 安條克 的法務官安提奧庫斯 [4]
整部法典共16卷，以拉丁文寫成，囊括了313年至437年間的2500多條法令。根據約翰·F·馬修斯的說法，此為自《十二銅表法 》以來，羅馬政府首次匯編與公佈其法令[5] [6] 基督教 正統信仰，並包含了65條針對異教徒的法令[7]
