象雄語（藏語：ཞང་ཞུང，威利轉寫：zhang zhung）是吐蕃在青藏高原崛起前象雄所用語言，使用者在今天西藏西部，現已滅絕。經證實出現在《洞中寶藏》（mDzod phug）的多語種文獻及其他短文當中。

一小部分包含未被破譯的語言的敦煌文獻中的內容被稱為古象雄語，但其性質尚存爭議。

洞中寶藏（mDzod phug）[編輯]

《洞中寶藏》（藏語：མཛོད་ཕུག，威利轉寫：mdzod phug）是指由Shenchen Luga（藏語：གཤེན་ཆེན་ཀླུ་དགའ，威利轉寫：gshen chen klu dga'）於12世紀公開的一部伏藏。^[3]Martin（n.d.: p. 21）認定其對於研究象雄語有重要意義：

For students of Tibetan culture in general, the mDzod phug is one of the most intriguing of all Bön scriptures, since it is the only lengthy bilingual work in Zhang-zhung and Tibetan (some of the shorter but still significant sources for Zhang-zhung are signalled in Orofino 1990)."^[4]

通常對於西藏文化的學者來說，《洞中寶藏》是所有苯教典籍中最神秘的一部，以其作為唯一長篇的象雄語和藏語雙語作品（一些更短但仍然意義重大象雄文獻於1990年在奧羅菲諾被報告）。

外部關係[編輯]

Bradley（2002）稱象雄語「現已認定」曾經是卡瑙里語或者西喜馬拉雅語言。向柏霖（2009）駁斥早期假說時通過該語言被認定為非羌語支語言稱象雄語可能源於西藏東部而非西部。^[5]

Widmer (2014)^[6]^:53-56將象雄語歸入西喜馬拉雅語支的東部語群，並給出下列象雄語和原始西喜馬拉雅語的同源詞。

有多種文字被認為用來書寫象雄語：^[7]

瑪欽文，或大言文字（藏語：སྨར་ཆེན，威利轉寫：smar chen）^[8]
瑪瓊文，或小言文字（藏語：སྨར་ཆུང，威利轉寫：smar chung）
崩欽文，或大崩文字（藏語：སྤུངས་ཆེན，威利轉寫：spungs chen）
崩瓊文，或小崩文字（藏語：སྤུངས་ཆུང，威利轉寫：spungs chung）
Drusha文字（藏語：བྲུ་ཤ，威利轉寫：bru sha）

苯教上師夏察·扎西堅贊在西藏本教源流中認為，崩欽文、崩瓊文是來自大食國的字母，分別演變出瑪欽文、瑪瓊文，最後演變成藏文的有頭體與無頭體，然而這種說法缺少有力的旁證。^[9] ^[10]

然而這些文字很少以書寫方式之外的方式出現。其中一個現存的文獻是原在祖卜寺的印章，使用瑪欽文。^[11]

古象雄語[編輯]

F. W. Thomas提出三部用藏文書寫的未被破解的敦煌文獻是以象雄語早期的形式書寫的。這一鑑定得到了武內紹人的認同，他稱其為「古象雄語」，並且補充了兩份文獻。^[12]然而Dan Martin對於鑑定這些文本的語言為象雄語的變種的學說提出了疑問。

這些文獻的其中兩份收於不列顛圖書館斯坦因藏書書目中，另外三份收於法國國家圖書館貝希和藏書書目中。在不同情況下，寫在與捲軸相反一側的有價值的文本都包含了早期漢傳佛教的文獻。^[12]用藏文書寫的文獻可追溯到8世紀末或9世紀初。武內和Nishida聲稱文獻已部分破譯，他們相信破譯的部分是醫學內容。^[13]
