PlayStation Now是一个基于外海公司的云游戏服务，用于向PlayStation 4、PlayStation 3、PlayStation Vita、PlayStation Vita TV和BRAVIA电视提供PlayStation游戏。[3][4]该服务允许用户付款，通过订阅或按照单款游戏售卖的计价的方式，获得一段原PlayStation 3的游戏作品访问。该项目随后扩展到PS4作品，亦加入移植版本的PlayStation和PlayStation 2作品。[5][6]若用户使用非PlayStation设备要使用该服务，则需要DualShock 3手柄支持，因为索尼认为这些游戏是为其手柄而设计的，使用DualShock接入进行游玩将会获得最好的体验，PlayStation品牌设备则可分别使用他们原来各自的游戏控制器进行操作。[7]索尼亦建议玩家配有5 Mbps的网络连接以获得他们认为的“良好表现”。[8]

PS Now在其数据中心使用经过修改的PS3设备，这样的一台设备的一块主板就拥有了等同于8台PS3主机的处理能力，它们被装配在超薄型服务器机柜中。这样做能够获得最好地利用机房空间，同时还能减少电力能耗。[9]根据其官方网站提供的资讯到2014年10月为止已有超过150个PS3游戏可以公测方式供用户访问。

PlayStation Now服务于2014年1月7日在2014年国际消费电子展（CES）上公开。[10][11]索尼在CES上展示了《最后生还者》、《战神：崛起》、《Puppeteer》和《超凡双生》的演示。通过PS Now，以上PS3独占游戏都可以在BRAVIA电视和PlayStation Vita上玩到。[12]PS Now的内部测试于1月28日在美国地区的PS3上开展，后于5月19日扩展至PS4。[11][1][2]PlayStation Now于2014年7月31日在美加地区启动PS4公测，9月18日启动PS3公测，10月14日启动PS Vita和PS Vita TV公测，此外2014年发布的特定型号BRAVIA电视亦将纳入测试范围。[2][13]索尼电脑娱乐在Gamescom 2014上宣布PS Now将于2015年进入欧洲，英国将会成为第一个接入服务的欧洲区国家。[14]
- 2014年12月25日，PlayStation Now将广大范围到不同的电器品牌，三星将成为第一个索尼之外的品牌，只有特定的智能电视支持PlayStation Now云游戏服务，预计2015年的上半年在美国和加拿大地区推出。
- 2015年1月13日，PlayStation Now推出订阅服务，PSN会员参与订阅计划，即可游玩库中所有游戏[15]。该订阅机制先行在北美PSN展开。
- 2017年2月17日，索尼宣布于同年8月15日终止PS3、PS Vita、PS TV、Sony Bravia及三星电视机等机种的PlayStation Now服务。[16]
- 2018年9月20日，PlayStation Now 允许下载库中的PS4游戏，和移植到PS4平台的PS2游戏于PlayStation4主机本地，不需联网即可游玩[17]。
- 2022年5月23日，索尼互动娱乐（SIE）宣布推出新的PlayStation Plus订阅方案，已有的PlayStation Now订阅被自动转为PlayStation Plus Premium级别订阅。PlayStation Now不再作为单独的订阅计划提供[18]。
