马西娅·马勒出生在密歇根州底特律，在密歇根州伯明翰长大，毕业于密歇根大学，之后在《日落杂志》担任记者[3]。

马西娅·马勒创作过许多小说，其中包括女私人侦探莎朗·麦克康（Sharon McCone）。《消失点》赢得夏姆斯奖（Shamus Award）[4]。马西娅·马勒先前曾四次提名夏姆斯奖[5]。
