顺性别

顺性别(英语:Cisgender)是指性别认同与出生时指定性别相同的人的一个术语。例如:一个人的性别认同是女性并且出生时被指定女性,这个人就是顺性别女性。顺性别一词与跨性别刚好相反。[1][2]

以顺性别为标准看待社会的世界观被称作“顺性别主义”(cissexism)。[3][4][5][6]

词源和术语[编辑]

部分说法认为,因为绝大部分人的性别指定性别认同是相同的,因此无须以“顺”字强调之。但对于跨性别者甚至非异性恋者而言,大部分人皆为顺性别,并不代表顺性别是理所当然的;使用“顺”字强调的目的即在于,破除“人人皆为顺性别”的预设。

尽管一些人认为顺性别一词就只是政治正确的用语,[7][8][9][10][11]但医学学者自1990年代以来就一直使用该术语并认识到其在跨性别研究中的重要性。[12][13][14]

2014年2月,Facebook开始提供“自定义”的性别选项,用户可以从性别相关的选项当中选择一个或多个与性别相关的术语,包含顺性别等等。[15][16]顺性别还于2013年被添加到《牛津英语词典》中,其定义为“指一个人的身份认同感与出生时的指定性别相对应的人(与跨性别相反)”。[17]美国历史学会指出,自从术语顺性别被纳入以来,该术语的使用已经越来越普遍。[18]

从女性主义和性别研究[编辑]

Krista Scott-Dixon在2009年写道:“我更喜欢non-trans(非跨)这个词,以及其他选择,像是cissexual或cisgendered。”[19]她认同这个观点是因为她认为术语“non-trans”这个词对普通人来说更为明白,使得帮助跨性别个体正常化。

女性和性别研究学者Mimi Marinucci写道,有些人认为“跨性别、顺性别”的二元性与“男性化女性化”的性别二元论一样危险或自欺欺人,因为它与跨性别者相反,并且任意地将认同自己为女同性恋、男同性恋或双性恋(LGB)的人混为一谈,对于一个异性恋主义的人来说过于简单化了。非跨性别人士(non-trans)可能会提出疑问,因为将LGB个体与异性恋放在一起表明LGB个体与跨性别者不同,可能代表“LGB个体的性别认同性别表现的经历与文化对他们的期望没有任何的不相容”。[20]

来自双性人组织[编辑]

双性人天生就具有非典型的生理性别特征,这可能会使最初的性别指定复杂化并导致不自主或强制的医疗。[21][22]根据interACT倡导者的说法,尽管有双性人使用这个词,顺性别这个术语可能会让有双性人特征的人“感到困惑”。[23]“双性人平权运动”人士Hida Viloria指出,作为一个天生拥有双性人身体的人,他的性别认同感是非二元性的,感觉与他的身体一致,这使得他天生即是顺性别又是非二元性别,但是根据顺性别的定义,与非二元性别可能是对立的,这证明了这个词的基础是一个二元性别模型,而这个模型并不能解释双性人的存在。他还批评了“出生时指定性别”一词在顺性别者的定义中被使用,却没有注意到婴儿在世界大多数地区都被指定为男性或女性,而不考虑世界上的双性人地位,并且指出这样做混淆了双性人的诞生并在男性或女性的二元性别基础中构建了性别认同,以及未能解释某些天生双性人的性别认同是非二元的存在。除此之外还有对双性人基于性别的歧视,说明其为产后性别特征而不是性别认同或表现,就如同“正常化”婴儿生殖器手术一样。[24]
