白頸鸛（學名：Ciconia episcopus；英語：woolly-necked stork，whitenecked stork）屬鸛形目鸛科鸛屬，廣泛分布於亞洲和非洲大部分地區。2011年，中國鳥類學家在雲南省納帕海自然保護區也發現了白頸鸛物種^[2]。

外形特徵[編輯]

絕大多數白頸鸛的高度在75-92厘米之間^[3]。頭頂具烏黑髮亮的帽冠，前額有羽毛覆蓋，有時有黑白條紋^[4]。上體深綠色，胸部、腹部具紫色羽團。腿部細長，呈紅色。喙為黑色，粗壯厚重，喙尖泛紫^[5]。雌雄外觀相仿，但雄性體型相對較大^[3]。

分布[編輯]

白頸鸛廣泛分布於熱帶地區，在亞洲從印度到印尼都能看到它的身影。它還廣泛分布在撒哈拉以南的非洲。其棲息環境包括淡水濕地、季節性水庫、沼澤、農田、灌溉渠和河流^[3]^[6]。

在中國的納帕海濕地（海拔3,790米）^[7]，以及尼泊爾的安納布爾納自然保護區（海拔3,540米）^[8] 也發現了該物種的個體。

生活習性[編輯]

白頸鸛通常棲息在有樹的濕地，在粗大的樹枝上築巢，一次通常產2～5枚卵，能產5枚已經算非常罕見了^[4]。印度的白頸鸛還將巢築在蜂窩站，甚至是河濱懸崖上^[9]^[10]。

白頸鸛喜好在地面上緩慢行走，專注在地面覓食。它主要以兩棲動物、爬行動物和小昆蟲為食^[3]^[11]^[12]^[13]。

分類學[編輯]

白頸鸛的種名（episcopus）意為中世紀基督教會的神職人員^[14]，指代早期神職人員穿戴的黑白法衣。

白頸鸛的分類尚有爭議。有學者認為它是亞種^[15]，另有人認為它應該從亞種提升為種^[16]。
