鏟齒象（學名：Platybelodon）是一種大型食草哺乳動物。它生存於中新世，約1500萬-1000萬年前，範圍包括非洲、歐洲、亞洲和北美。雖然當時它數量眾多，但是在中新世滅絕。
古生態學[編輯]
鏟齒象以前被認為生活在草原的沼澤地區，用其牙齒鏟水生植被和半水生植被。不過，牙齒磨損圖案表明，它利用其下面的暴牙剝去樹皮，並可能使用了尖銳的門牙形成「鏟」的邊緣，就像一個現代的鐮刀，抓住樹枝並用下齒將其從樹上切斷。[1]
鏟齒象與同為嵌齒象科的板齒象（Amebelodon）很相似。
