Allbirds的联合创始人提姆·布朗曾经是一位新西兰国家足球队副队长，在他当副队长时他就打算创办一家公司。[6]他曾在商学院读过书，而且还为朋友们做过皮鞋。[2]2014年，他在得到新西兰羊毛行业企业的资助下，成功设计出一款运动鞋。然后他在Kickstarter上发起众筹，五天内就筹集了119,000 美元。[7][1]运动鞋在Kickstarter上成功发布后，提姆·布朗又与生物技术工程师和可再生资源专家乔伊·茨维林格（Joey Zwillinger）展开合作。[7]2016年3月，他们正式创办Allbirds。[8][7] Allbirds这个名字的含义是“百鸟之国” ，因为新西兰本土几乎没有除了人以外的哺乳动物。[9]
