音量竞赛

音量竞赛(英文:loudness war 或 loudness race)指的是混音业(特别是唱片公司及广告界)中将母带的音量提升,最早的是简单地增加波形的振幅,但发展到後期声音技师以越来越暴力的手段压缩音波以收窄整条声音的动态范围,再将音波振幅按整体比例向上推。这「竞赛」的发端是业界的艺人或制作人要求自己作品的音量比其他业者突出(例如在播放电视广告时段),行家们互相竞争而造成作品音量逐年有增无减,直到音波压无可压为止。[1]
