摘要

描述
English: The Scottish district tartan known as "old Huntly", and sometimes also called "Gordon red" though there are multiple tartans by that appellation [1] and this other tartan is the usual one (and, further, this should not be confused with the other tartan called Huntly district [2]; nor with the "Marchioness of Huntly's" tartan, which has been used as a Huntly district tartan [3]). This image is exactly full-sett, and can tile horizontally and vertically. The tartan was first recorded in the 1819 Key Pattern Book of William Wilson & Son of Bannockburn, but is probably much older. It is of a "busy" style frequently seen in tartans that pre-date the Dress Act 1746. Scottish Register of Tartans notes on this pattern: "Sample from the Telfer-Dunbar collection. Also known as 'Old Huntly' and frequently used as the Huntly District tartan. Not to be confused with the 'usual' Huntly District tartan which is based on the MacRae, Ross, Grant group with [sic] which it does not appear to be related." This is a repeating, not mirroring, tartan. SRT-provided thread count (in "..." notation): ...P32 W4 CLR14 W4 K28 A12 W4 P30 W4 HG34 A12 HG12 S16 K12 S16 K4 S16 K12 S16 HG12 A12 HG34 W4 P30 W4 A12 K28 W4 CLR14 W4... (CLR = coral, HG = hunting green, A = azure, S = scarlet).
