看到各位的討論，我忍不住參與進來。關於新華社是否可靠這個問題，我作為一名中國的國民及維基的用戶，我覺得我在這個問題上我很有發言權。
在座討論的各位可能對我們這個國家的媒體有些陌生甚至不好的看法。在這一方面，我想告訴在座的各位，中國媒體在新聞自由度上面對比西方各國是不高，但在真實性及有效性上是不用懷疑的。從歷史上，新華社是一間歷史悠久的官方媒體，新華社在1940年開啓國際事務，至今已面向大眾80年。即使評價有好有壞，但每間新聞媒體不是都能令每一個人都滿意。但它至今仍存在就已經能說明，它有自己的價值。
新華社是可能被有些人認為是政府的宣傳媒介，但是新華社同時作為官方媒體背負了中國的形象，發佈的新聞及消息要能為中國的形象負責。我覺得新華社有做到發佈有效的新聞消息。
所以，新華社被有些人認為是中國政府的宣傳渠道，這一點，我只能說每個人都有自己的看法。但新華社發佈的新聞和消息是真實且有效的。上面的幾位維基百科用戶也舉出了新華社與各其他國際知名媒體的合作及受到的贊揚，所以我也不在這舉出了。但足以可見新華社在國際上是有認受性，是可以使用的可靠有效來源。
我雖然不能代表誰，但是我也關注新聞，關注身邊發生的事。在中文維基百科上編輯條目我們也一樣需要提供可靠的來源。在編輯上我一直都很樂意使用新華社作為我的參考來源。至少我認為是有效的。-WiokTALK‧1000+ 2020年12月18日 (五) 14:35 (UTC)
