寄宿学校

寄宿学校是一种部分或全体学生不仅在那里学习，而且与同学（有时也与教师）一同居住的学校。

英联邦国家的许多公学都是寄宿学校。在寄宿学校度过的时间可能从一年到十二年，或更长的时间。寄宿学校的学生可能在离开其父母的情况下，度过他们的童年和青春期的大部分时光，學生只有在假期返回家中。在美国，寄宿学校通常包括7到12年级，主要在中学阶段。大部分寄宿学校也拥有走读的学生，他们是本社区的居民或教职员子女。一些美国的寄宿学校起到军事训练的作用。
