西奥多·康托尔

西奥多·爱德华·康托尔丹麦语Theodore Edward Cantor,1809年—1860年)是一名丹麦医生动物学家植物学家[1]。他出生于一个丹麦犹太家庭[2],母亲是纳塔尼尔·瓦利希的妹妹。康托尔曾为英国东印度公司工作,并在槟榔屿马六甲收集自然史资料[3]

康托尔是第一位描述泰国斗鱼的西方科学家[4][5][6][7]。在爬行动物学领域,他描述了许多爬行动物和两栖动物的新物种[8],有六个物种以他的名字命名。
