I’m writing this in response to this comment which was a reply to a request for pictures of the Tea Parties to use in Wikipedia.

I think the picture above would be a very good illustration of the spirit of the protests, showing a demonstrator holding a sign reading “Dissent is patriotic.”

Wikipedia is very anal about copyright so I can’t just upload the pictures and say somebody on the internet told me it was okay.

If you reply to this note asserting that you release the work under the GNU Free Documentation License (a free licence that permits re-use and derived works with attribution) then I would be grateful. Otherwise it’s likely to be deleted.

If not, no problem. Thanks for your offer. That’s a great picture.

No, I think that will be enough for anybody. Thank you. I’ll post the picture along with a link to this post with your release. The good people at Wikipedia only need to be sure they’re not ripping anybody off.
