English: Flowers and candles adorn the bronze statue in Straus Park, at the intersection of West 106th Street and Broadway on Manhattan's Upper West Side, on April 15, 2012, the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the RMS Titanic. The statue, which was created in 1913 by Augustus Lukeman, is of a nymph gazing over an expanse of water, in memory of Isidor Straus, a United States congressman and co-owner of Macy’s, who perished on the Titanic with his wife, Ida, who refused to be separated from him by taking refuge in a lifeboat.
This photo was created by Luigi Novi. It is not in the public domain, and use of this file outside of the licensing terms is a copyright violation.
