English: British Forces in the Middle East, 1945-1947
The explosion of a second bomb at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem. The hotel housed the Military headquarters for all armed forces in Palestine as well as the offices of the Palestine Government. The attack on the hotel was the biggest blow struck against British rule in Palestine by fighters of the Jewish 'Irgun' organisation.

This image was catalogued as taken by the Army Film and Photographic Unit (AFPU) which operated between 1942—1946.[1] The AFPU was composed of members of the forces during their active service, so their works are covered by Crown Copyright provisions. Faithful reproductions may be reused under that licence, which is considered expired 50 years after their creation.
