2023年2月28日，兩列火車（乘客共342人）在希臘色薩利大區地區相撞，數節車廂出軌，截至3月9日，該事故造成57人死亡，72人負傷[2][3][1][4][5][6]，罹難者包含8名鐵路局人員以及9名塞薩洛尼基亞里斯多德大學的學生[7]。為希臘歷史上死傷最嚴重的鐵路事故[8][1]，超越1968年造成34死150傷的科斯林火車相撞事故。3月1日到3月3日，希臘進入為期三天的全國哀悼，所有公共建築降半旗，公共活動暫停[9]。

當地時間2月28日深夜，一列載有342名乘客從希臘首都雅典駛往希臘北部城市塞薩洛尼基的客運火車與一列從塞薩洛尼基駛往雅典的貨運火車於拉里薩附近的滕皮鎮在同一條軌道上迎面相撞，貨運火車上載有兩人。事故直接造成部分車廂脫軌並引發火災[10][11][12]。

應急響應[編輯]

撞車後，有不少車廂起火，150名消防員試圖撲滅火勢，另有40輛救護車以及30多位警察在現場參與救援，救援時甚至出動了起重機[13][14][15]。倖存與受輕傷的乘客通過公共汽車從碰撞現場疏散到塞薩洛尼基[16][17][18]。

事故發生後，警方質詢了兩名鐵路官員。[19]另外，一名站長被逮捕，並被控過失致死與過失傷害罪名，這名站長負責軌道訊號管控。他否認有任何不當行為，並將事故歸咎於可能的機械故障。[20]希臘基礎設施和交通部部長科斯塔斯·卡拉曼利斯（英語：Kostas Karamanlis (politician, born 1974)）宣布辭職。[21]希臘總理基里亞科斯·米佐塔基斯表示，火車相撞事故主要由人為錯誤導致。[22]

火車事故引發希臘民眾不滿，有民眾發起抗議，並與警方發生衝突。[23]

3月5日，希臘總理就火車相撞事故道歉，一火車站長被拘留。[24]該站長被指控按錯掣，讓2列相反方向的列車在同一車軌行駛。站長接受了這一指控。[25]
