約翰艾奇森（英語：John Aitchison，1926年7月22日—2016年12月23日）出生於蘇格蘭東林頓，畢業於愛丁堡大學及劍橋大學，蘇格蘭統計學家。[1]他在統計學界中作出了不少貢獻，當中包括分佈理論(Distribution theory)、實用貝葉斯統計(Bayesian statistics)、醫學統計診斷以及其他應用和理論統計等。[1] 他在1976至1989年間，曾任職香港大學統計系講座教授及系主任，並於1977年在香港創立香港統計學會。

- 1964年獲利物浦大學晉升為准教授[1]
- 1966年在格拉斯哥大學出任統計學教授和米切爾統計學講師[1]
- 1968年當選為愛丁堡皇家學會會員[1]
