鷹鴞屬（學名：Ninox），是鴞形目鴟鴞科下的一個屬。[2]
分類學[编辑]
本物種由英國博物學家布賴恩·霍頓·霍奇森於1837年建立，為其發現的物種Ninox nipalensis所建立。[3]該物種現今為英國政治家斯坦福·莱佛士所描述之鹰鸮的亞種之一。[4]其屬名Ninox來自兩個舊有的屬名：一個是法國博物學家喬治·居維葉於1800年命名的Nisus（意思為鷹，現今為鷹屬之異名）；另一個則是法國動物學家瑪麗·朱爾斯·塞薩爾·薩維尼於1809年命名的Noctua（意思為貓頭鷹，現今為小鴞屬之異名）。[5]霍奇森當時認為這種貓頭鷹是他認為最像鷹類的貓頭鷹。[5]
