2013年7月，席曼尼兹以280万美元的国际签约金加盟小熊队。[1][2][3][4]当时大联盟给了席曼尼兹“五拍子球员”的高评价。[5]

2014年，席曼尼兹开启职业生涯。那年他的上垒率仅2成68，而且还因伤提前结束球季。[6]2015年，球团将他升上1A磨练。[7]席曼尼兹不仅将上垒率提升至3成28，还敲出7支本垒打。

2016年，他在低阶1A缴出3成29打击率，敲出14轰与81分打点的成绩。[8][9]于是他在隔年升上高阶1A。[10]

芝加哥白袜[编辑]

2017年7月13日，小熊队用席曼尼兹、迪兰·希斯、Matt Rose和Bryant Flete向白袜队交易荷西·昆塔纳。[11]而席曼尼兹在季中升上2A。[12]这年他的打击率为3成12，并敲出19轰与65分打点。[13]他也在球季末进入球队的40人名单。[14]
