苞被木科(Trimeniaceae)[1]也叫腺齒木科或早落瓣科，只包括1-2屬約5-9種，只生長在澳大利亞東部、太平洋島嶼和東南亞。
本科植物都是喬木，小花兩性，生長在熱帶和亞熱帶環境中，植物中可提煉香精。
1981年的克朗奎斯特分類法將其分在樟目中，1998年根據基因親緣關係分類的APG 分類法認為無法將本科分入任何一目，只得直接放在被子植物分支之下[2]，2003年經過修訂的APG II 分類法將其列在新設立的木蘭藤目中[3]。
