大果松（学名：Pinus coulteri），或按英译考尔泰松（Coulter pine），是松属下的一种乔木，原产于南加利福尼亚和加利福尼亚半岛。“Coulter pine”一名是用来纪念爱尔兰植物学家托马斯·考尔泰。
描述及分布[编辑]
大果松是一种耐旱的中型常绿乔木，生长在海拔200—2,300米（660—7,550英尺）的地区。树高在10—24米（33—79英尺）之间，树干直径可达1米（3英尺3英寸）。松针呈灰绿色，长度为15—30厘米（5.9—11.8英寸）。其松果硕大，长约20—40厘米（7.9—15.7英寸）。[2]大果松和其他的植物一起构成森林，[3]常有啄木鸟生活在大果松的附近，以其树干中的虫子为食。[4]
用途[编辑]
大果松是一种常见的园艺植物，曾获皇家园艺学会的“Award of Garden Merit”。[5]
