German Township is one of the ten townships of Clark County, 俄亥俄州, 美国. The 2010 census reported 7,487 people living in the township, [3] 7,112 of whom lived in the unincorporated portions of the township.
地理
[编辑]Located in the northern part of the county, 与以下镇区接壤:
- Mad River Township, Champaign County - 北
- Urbana Township, Champaign County - 北east corner
- Moorefield Township - 东
- Springfield Township - 东南
- Bethel Township - 南west
- Pike Township - 西
- Jackson Township, Champaign County - 北west corner
Several communities are located in German Township:
- Lawrenceville, an unincorporated community in the center of the township
- Part of Springfield, the county seat of Clark County, in the southeast of the township
- Tremont City, a village in the northeast of the township
Name and history
[编辑]German Township was possibly named from the German pioneer settlers.[4]
It is one of five German Townships statewide.[5]
政府
[编辑]镇区有3人组成的理事会管理。理事会理事选举在奇数年11月举行,并在来年1月1日开始四年任期。两名理事的选举在总统选举后一年举行,另一名的选举在总统选举前一年举行。镇区财务官亦由选举产生[6],与一名镇区理事选举同时举行,不过在来年4月1日才开始四年任期。若财务官或理事职位有空缺,将由剩余理事填补。
