Porter Township is one of the eighteen townships of Delaware County, 俄亥俄州, 美国. The 2000 census found 1,696 people in the township.[3]

[编辑]Located in the northeastern corner of the county, 与以下镇区接壤：
- Bennington Township, Morrow County - 北
- South Bloomfield Township, Morrow County - 北east corner
- Hilliar Township, Knox County - 东
- Hartford Township, Licking County - 东南 corner
- Trenton Township - 南
- Berkshire Township - 南west corner
- Kingston Township - 西
- Peru Township, Morrow County - 北west corner
No municipalities are located in Porter Township.
Name and history
[编辑]Porter Township was organized in the 1820s. It was named for Hon. Robert Porter, a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who received from President John Adams a land grant in Delaware County.[4]
Statewide, the only other Porter Township is located in Scioto County.
政府
[编辑]镇区有3人组成的理事会管理。理事会理事选举在奇数年11月举行，并在来年1月1日开始四年任期。两名理事的选举在总统选举后一年举行，另一名的选举在总统选举前一年举行。镇区财务官亦由选举产生[5]，与一名镇区理事选举同时举行，不过在来年4月1日才开始四年任期。若财务官或理事职位有空缺，将由剩余理事填补。
Public services
[编辑]Fire protection in Porter Township is the responsibility of the Porter-Kingston Fire District,[6] and emergency medical services are provided by the Delaware County EMS.[7]
